A prototype of Overboard! (known as Shipwreckers! in NTSC regions) for the Sony PlayStation.

Notes

  • Contains a small debug menu accessed by pressing triangle while in game. It contains a level skip, a toggle for a debug overlay (featuring an FPS counter, player coordinates, current memory usage etc), a toggle for invulnerability and a "profile" toggle.
  • The Dolby Surround STR video is missing.
  • This build automatically moves on from the title screen to the main menu after around 30 seconds have passed, a feature which was removed in the final game.
  • The 1 Player screen contains a few differences regarding it's UI layout, such as the text box that displays the currently highlighted option's name being located lower down the screen, the "Select" X button UI prompt being located on the bottom right side of the screen, and the "Exit" triangle button UI prompt is missing.
  • The memory card screen's UI text in the bottom left corner reads "Card" instead of "Memory Card".
  • The Restart option in the pause menu instantly resets the level when selected and lacks the follow up "Restart? Yes / No" popup seen in the final game.
  • The weapon wheel UI sprites are slightly misaligned compared to the final build.
  • The electric from the Lightning Launcher obstacles throughout the game is coloured yellow instead of red.
  • The left gated area on Level 8 (Inca 4) uses some different texturing on the thin strip of land.
  • Destroying the icebergs in the Arctic levels causes a rather bright flashing explosion effect which was understandably removed in the final game.
  • The rowboat enemies seen at the beginning of Level 11 use a strange early model.
  • Level 19 (Egypt 3) uses a different water texture to the final game.
  • The soundtrack is stored in XA format in this build rather than the CDDA audio found in the final game, with the level and multiplayer themes capped at exactly 3:30 in length and the boss themes (and main title theme) capped at exactly 2:00. All of the main level & multiplayer themes are notably longer than they are in the final game (with the multiplayer tracks in particular being twice as long), featuring previously unheard unique sections. The third Multiplayer theme used for the third, sixth and ninth arenas is not yet present in this build.
