The earliest available build of Halo, dated to October 22, 1999. This build is a ported playable demo based on the prior build showcased at Macworld 1999. Requires the D3D9.dll file from an instance of "dgvoodoo" to operate on modern Windows operating systems.

Notes

Speartest is a playable demo that differs from the build at Macworld. The Macwrold build was limited in its functionality, and was designed to be simply showcased in a commercialized format, as well aa having a handful of screenshots at the time created using in game functions to accomplish this.

Speartest contains all of the files in the local folder, more can be viewed though. Running guerillabeta -> files -> split all. This will give you all of the files in the local folder, and a majority of the files can be examined through the same exe to give you a deeper understanding of their tags.

The files themselves all contain headers for guerillabeta itself, but they are all rasterized using DirectX 9 Software on 32bit Win98 OS. This is why the file D3D9.dll is needed from dgvoodoo, as the dll wrapper is able to act as though it was rasterizing through DirectX 9.

The original formats of the bitmaps were .tif (tiff) files, converted to bitmaps and visualized as mipmaps; models were made using 3D Studio Max 2.5 and were one of its formats, only to be converted to .x with Direct 3D. Though no file extensions exist that allow one to know this.

More information will be added here and in the Cutting Room Floor page of this build of Halo by me (S73G/James) in the future.
