A prototype of Fighting Force for the PlayStation.

Notes

  • An NTSC build dated seven months before the final.
  • Primitive title screen (with an unfinished logo) featuring a level select. Five stages can be selected - four from level 1 and one from level 3.
  • Only one fighter - Hawk - appears to be selectable, though the name "Hawk" appears on the title screen as if the player has the option to change it.
  • Enters gameplay immediately after the title screen.
  • The game has no music, and very few sound effects.
  • Loading screens have a different appearance, as does the pause screen.
  • Cutscenes are incomplete and characters and objects can be seen passing through solid gates.
  • Many areas lack collision.
  • Lighting, textures and camera angles are frequently different to the final.
  • The scenery in a couple of the levels is very incomplete, lacks collision, and the player can easily exit the intended bounds of the level.
  • The only levels which appear to be anywhere near complete at this point - and have collision detection - are stages 1 and 3 of level 1.
  • Hawk has a different appearance to his final look.
  • Has no saving functionality yet.
  • Pickups are surrounded by a circle which indicates whether the player is close enough to pick them up.
  • No energy is used in making a spin-kick.
  • The player does not have the ability to sprint yet.
  • Miscellaneous Notes:
    • Game is emulatable: Yes (as of April 17, 2021).
    • Game contains dongle protection: No.
    • Game contains debugging symbols: No
    • Dump was originally scrambled: No
