An early prototype of Silent Hill: Homecoming for the Sony PlayStation 3.
Notes
- Early prototype.
- Predates the final build by 4 months.
- Debug symbols are present.
- Runs exceptionally well but only covers the second and third missions, crashing right after leaving your backyard. Also, you can't enter the rear of the house to hear the casette tape. No sign of the cut alternate tutorial opening involving fighting alongside a hunter in the woods.
- The most notable content difference is that characters appear with different hairstyles. Both Alex (the protagonist) and the town's mayor have completely different hair sculpts than in the final release. They still exchange the same dialogue.
- There's also a recurring glitch, at least in RPCS3, where everything seems to be a bit... higher than it should? Like, sometimes a chair is hovering, and Alex sometimes appears to be walking half an inch above the ground at certain angles. It doesn't impact the gameplay, it's just visually distracting. I can see about grabbing screenshots from my recordings tomorrow.
