A prototype of Vigilante 8: Second Offense for the Dreamcast.
Notes
- No logos, opening screens, sequences, etc. It goes straight to the main menu
- Main menu itself is different
- No music
- Different button symbols (for all menus)
- Different spinning cursor (tire instead of 2-faced smiley)
- No flip-away transition when making a selection in the menus
- Options menu is also different
- Selections are simple text (not on plates)
- Different background behind the title logo & selections
- Lineage portraits have the central 3 boxes filled with portraits and they're colorful (related to unlocks?)
- "VMU" is "Memory Card", and no "Back Story" selection
- Swapped buttons between going back and main menu (although it is redundant, in general). Navigation buttons for various menus are generally different.
- In 1 Player Mode, Quest and Arcade have swapped positions
- Quest and Survival are not accessible
- Placeholder names, like "Harbor Level" in the stage select. Also, the interstate "V8" sign stays in the same place.
- Lots of differences in the character select: portraits, stats, names. One portrait even somewhat repeats
- Selected characters have no voice clips
- There are no loadings screens; instead, the current screen freezes as the next part of the game is loading (such as entering the gameplay)
- Differences in the vehicle models
- HUD is slightly different
