A prototype of XGRA: Extreme G Racing Association for the PlayStation 2.
Notes
- An NTSC build dated over 3 months before the final game. This version would have acted as a "Beta Candidate" version.
- There is no intro sequence, no opening logos, no genre select nor a title screen - instead, the game boots straight into the main menu.
- The XGIII-styled menus seen in earlier builds are seen here again, though a bit more refined, despite still looking nothing like the final game's menus. The first menu is very differently styled to how it appeared in previous builds, though for some reason, this menu will occasionally switch back to the earlier version. In this mode, some of the menu options in the sub-menus become inaccessible.
- The soundtrack is very unfinished and only contains an extremely limited number of tracks.
- Only the English language is present, and selecting any other language will replace all text with variants of "Text n Not Found".
- The list of languages does not match the one used in the final PAL build.
- Additionally, the language selection does not normally appear in NTSC versions of the game at all.
- There is a much wider selection of playable tracks now. They're generally quite incomplete and have some glitchy collision, allowing you to drive through walls. The tracks have early placeholder names.
- All tracks are unlocked in arcade mode from the beginning, unless a save file is loaded, for some reason.
- The track maps are unfinished and use placeholder images.
- The loading screens are unfinished.
- The countdown at the beginning of the race sounds different.
- Additionally, there's no sign showing this countdown.
- Some voice clips will cut off before they're able to finish.
- Only one pre-race voiceover seems to be complete, and it's used on all levels.
- Weirdly, on Scavenger A, the bike will start upside down before flipping over.
- The in-game HUD and power-up names are unfinished.
- The game seems prone to crashing.
- Miscellaneous Notes:
- Game is emulatable (in PCSX2): Yes (as of March 17, 2021).
- Game contains dongle protection: No.
