A prototype of XGRA: Extreme G Racing Association for the PlayStation 2.

Notes

  • An NTSC build dated just over 2 months before the final game.
  • There is no intro sequence, nor opening logos. There's a title screen in this build, but it doesn't match the one used in the final.
  • The player is greeted to a choice of either a "Dance" or "Rock" soundtrack when starting up the game, like some of the much earlier builds. It's not clear if this has any affect on the music that's played.
  • Some of the menus are a bit incomplete and may contain typos.
  • Only the English language is present, and selecting any other language will replace all text with variants of "Text n Not Found".
  • There's early loading screens.
  • There's a debugging display containing camera coordinates near the bottom of the screen in-game at all times.
  • Tracks are generally quite incomplete and have some glitchy collision, allowing you to drive through walls.
  • Powerups and weapons are seemingly absent from this version, or at least inaccessible from the beginning, unlike previous builds.
  • The countdown at the beginning of the race sounds different.
    • Additionally, there's no sign showing this countdown.
  • There's a new save format, meaning this build will not be able to use the same save format as earlier ones.
  • For some reason there's a black bar along the top of the screen in menus.
  • A character select resembling the final one is finally present, but it's clearly quite incomplete still.
  • Despite the tracks now having their final names, their earlier placeholder names also appear on-screen when selecting a track.
  • Miscellaneous Notes:
    • Game is emulatable (in PCSX2): Yes (as of March 17, 2021).
    • Game contains dongle protection: No.
